The horse ride

Molly has a fascination with horses. She has been begging for quite a while to go to the Cheivers and ride their horse and feed it carrots. Gabe joined in to the quest for a horse experience. Jeff took the kids over one Saturday while I was sleeping off a night shift. Gabe had to wear his cowboy boots (aka moon boots), cowboy handkerchief, and a cowboy hat (not seen), his guns and holsters, and his cowboy belt. Funny thing was that he held his nose the whole time he was on the horse. He said the horse needed a bath!!! Molly, my horse lover, wouldn't even pet or feed the horse, but she still came home ready to tell me all about it. Kate just sat on a railroad tie getting her clothes stained with tar. You've got to know it was her dad's doing. I am just proud of Jeff for doing it on his own.

Our family trip to Arizona

We went down to the Mesa area in Arizona to visit some of our good friends. The Strongs invited us down for a visit and we took them up on it in the middle of March. Boy was it nice to get out of the cold!!! It was so fun to see a new part of the country. Neither Jeff or I had been down to Arizona. It was nice to see where the Strongs are living and to see that they are doing so good. We had so much fun just hanging out and letting the kids play. We learned alot of new, fun games and had fun trying out the Wii. I think we had more fun laughing at each other than really playing the games. I need to get a clip of Jeff doing Hula-hoop on the blog so that everyone can have a good laugh. He is a good sport!



We went swimming at a pool while we were there. The weather was perfect for swimming and the kiddos enjoyed getting outside and into the water. When we were almost done swimming we all had to evacuate the pool. We heard that there was a scorpion in the water. Jeff said he had seen it. So we were waiting for them to get the scorpion out and it turned out that the scorpion was really poop. Yuck. Thank goodness for chlorine!!! I didn't get back in.

Gabe's first friend party

It is funny how different boys are from girls. The boys played basketball out back for a bit and ran around. Then each boy got to paint his own car. Thank goodness for washable paint. They also got spiderman masks and had fun running around shooting webs on each other.

Molly's First Friend Party

Molly had her first birthday party with friends. She invited 5 little friends and Gabe (of course). I thought Gabe would have a hard time with her getting all the presents from her friends and not him. He did really good and his only concern was that he didn't have a gift to give to Molly. Molly is a genuine horse freak. She spends half of her life pretending to be a horse, so I thought it was only appropriate to have a horse party. Everybody got a pair of horse ears and a horsey tail. The girls had so much fun pretending to be horses and playing together.




Since horses like to eat sugar cubes, I thought it would be fun for the girls to build stuff with them. It didn't take long for them to figure out how good they tasted. They would all exclaim how the sugar tickled their tongues. Sorry parents. Your children got lots of sugar at the party.

Birthday Cakes

Molly and Gabe got to pick out their own cakes this year. Molly wanted a horse cake and Gabe wanted a Monster truck cake. I decided to do the pink ice cream cone cakes for Molly's friend party, just cause I wanted to see what they looked like. I had seen them on a website and thought they would be fun. Mine didn't turn out as cute as the ones on the website. It was fun to make the cakes! I really enjoy it, but I have to accept the fact that they look far from perfect.

A sunday afternoon with dad

Jeff sat down one Sunday afternoon to watch a movie with the kids and this is what happened. Two of the three fell asleep. Molly was out and so was Jeff. It was so cute to see the three of them there together. Aww.....how cute!!

The Winker
