This is Gabe's favorite mode of transportation. We have definitely gotten our money's worth out of it. We are on our 3rd summer of Power Wheels fun and still going strong. Gabe drives, Molly rides in the passenger seat, and Kate rides sideways in the back. Now, they have fun going around and around the house since we don't have any grass and occasionally get in a little four-wheeling! I caught Gabers working on his car one morning and had to get some pics. Do you think he has seen his dad do this a time or two? Look at the cardboard box he is laying on! Just like dad.
Trying to get a picture of Gabe's self performed haircut. I don't know what possessed the boy, but he cut his hair one day. Hopefully he never does it again! He was so embarrassed that I couldn't get a great photo. Here are the ones I got! He got a buzz cut at the end of the day.
Here, we are all bricked, just waiting for the rock. Where you see wood, we will be putting rock. I hope it all looks good! I am really liking everything so far.
Every year at this time, we have a pluthera of birthday cakes. Jeff, Molly, Gabe, and Kate all have their birthdays within 5 weeks of each other. Here are the cakes that I made for the kiddos. Jeff never gets a cake for his birthday, poor guy, because none of us can stand the sight of a cake by the time we get to his birthday. I am thinking about buying an ice cream cake for him this year. That would be super yummy!! None of the cakes turned out the way I would have liked, but they all tasted pretty good. This cake above, I made for Kate's birthday. There was so much candy on it!! It was any kid's dream!!
This cake we made for a party we had with Jeff's family. Kate is a huge fan of Mickey.
These cupcakes we had for a little party we had for Molly and Gabe.
This was what Gabe wanted for his birthday cake. It is my best at trying to duplicate Grave Digger, Gabe's favorite monster truck.
Molly wanted a princess cake for her birthday. This was the best I could do. I used a snowball for the princess's skirt and then put the body of a princess down in. Molly loved it, but you can tell that I was running out of steam towards the end of the cakemaking.
We are trying to be happy with the way it is turning out. We are loving how the house looks from the outside, but are not loving how small all the rooms are on the inside. It'll be nice, though. We'll finally have a yard.....focus on the good!!
In October, we went to Disneyland with my sister's family and with Jeff's sister's family. The kids travelled really well, but my kids had fevers the first couple days of the trip. They didn't have as good of a time as I would have wished. It was fun to have family there to swap riders. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn across the street and just walked there every day. It was busier than we had hoped. Sunday was crazy with long long lines. We had an OK time, but will wait a while before we go again. Here are some of the pictures we took, only four months ago.
Kate riding on her daddy's shoulders all tuckered out.
Molly and Gabe playing in the letter A of California.
Eric, Tyler, Brayden, and Gabe messing around in the Toy Story ride line.
My beautiful Molly in those hot 3D glasses!!
Kate's bitter beer face.
Blake, Gabe, Mater, and McQueen. The boys thought that the cars were real!! How cute!!
The Huffaker family with one of our favorite people, Mickey.
After many attempts, Kate sat still long enough for me to really do her hair. This was the result! I thought she was so cute that I had to take pictures and do a post. Isn't she adorable?!! She is mine, I admit i have a particular fondness for her, but dang! What a doll. The others are so cute too, I just don't get many cute pics of Kate. She doesn't cooperate at this age.
My skinny little, birdlegged girl!! This was her dance costume that she wore for the Christmas recital. She loved getting all dolled up and wearing the make-up. I didn't know how she would react to it all since she is so not a princessy kind of girl and super shy. I didn't even know if she would go on the stage to perform. I was so proud of her and it was so fun to get her ready for the recital. I have to share the adorable pics of her in her costume!!
